New E-filing Service Makes Things Easier for Wage & Salary Workers

If
you are a wage and salary worker who has expenses (e.g., cosmetic surgery, oriental
medicine, etc.,) not reported for income deduction during the tax settlement
season, the new NTS e-filing service will help you claim the amount of deductions
you missed.

The
new e-filing service is introduced exclusively for wage and salary workers and
is available on the NTS Hometax website. If a wage and salary worker failed
to report any deductible expenses during the year-end tax settlement period
and wants to receive deduction for those expenses, the new service will make
it much easier for them to apply for deduction. In the past, taxpayers wishing
to claim income deduction for expenses that they failed to declare during the
year-end tax settlement had to enter all of the categories of deductions on
their tax return including the deductions that were already declared.

From
now on, however, things will work much simpler. On the Hometax website, taxpayers
may view their return form of the previous year-end tax settlement, and simply
revise the records or newly enter expenses for deduction on the e-Form. Then
the automatic calculator will do the math for the taxpayers. However, everything
is not done electronically. Taxpayers should submit supporting documents for
additional deduction by visiting a tax office or by mail.
