The National Tax Service was chosen as the best ombudsman agency among 640 public entities including central administrative agencies and local autonomous entities.
The NTS was awarded a presidential citation at the 1st People’s Shinmungo Grand Prize Award hosted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission, becoming the only central government agency to receive an ombudsman award.
The honor went to the NTS in recognition of Taxpayer Advocacy Committee’s hard works to represent taxpayers’ interests.
The NTS announced that it would donate all of the prize money of 10 million won to support the poor and marginalized.
