and Revised “Truths and Myths on Taxes”
A
newly revised and expanded 2007 edition of the National Tax Service-published
book is now in bookstores nationwide. First published last November, Truths
and Myths on Taxes sold over 60,000 copies, becoming the first government publication
to make it to the top-selling list in major bookstores. Like the first edition,
the 2007 version addresses the general audience and explains in plain and simple
language Korea’s current tax system and tax administration.
Newly
added contents include:
- Issues
that have drawn public attention, particularly in relation to the debate around
the tax burden of the Comprehensive Real Estate Holding Tax;
- NTS
pro-active efforts since the last publication in building a strong global network
in the international tax community with a special focus on the tax agency’s
participation in major international tax events, and;
- Latest
update to tax statistics and revisions to the tax law.
The
book is currently available in Korean only, but an abridged English version
will be made available to overseas readers by the end of July.
