|OECD Committee on Fiscal Affairs (CFA)
The Committee on Fiscal Affairs is one of the OECD Committees in which senior tax officials from all OECD Member governments participate. It provides a forum for exchanging views, ideas, and the best practices on tax policy and administrative issues. In 1998, the Forum on Harmful Tax Practices was created to effectively counteract the spread of tax havens and other harmful tax practices. In 2002, the Committee created a Forum on Tax Administration (FTA) which focuses on improving taxpayer services and compliance. Its inaugural meeting was held in Seville, Spain from January 13, 2004 to January 15, 2004. The second meeting of the FTA was held in Dublin, Ireland in June 2005. During the second meeting, it was agreed that the third meeting of the FTA would be held in Seoul, Korea.
|The Study Group on Asian Tax Administration and Research (SGATAR)
The SGATAR is an organization consisting of 13 tax authorities from the Asia and Pacific countries and regions. Since its establishment in 1971, a plenary meeting has been held annually. Through these meetings, member tax administrators can share their views, exchange information, and discuss various tax issues. The NTS hosted the 33rd SGATAR Meeting in Seoul in 2003. The 34th Meeting was held in Sydney, Australia.
